WHO WE ARE
A place where faith, community, and history come together. Rooted in Lucasville since 1839, our church continues to stand as a beacon of hope, love, and unity. We’re a family of believers growing together in Christ – celebrating God’s presence, serving our community, and walking in faith every day.
Whether you’re new to the area, exploring your faith, or seeking a church to call home – you’re welcome here. Join us for worship, connection, and spiritual growth as we continue the legacy of faith that began generations ago.
Our Vision
Lucasville United Baptist Church exists to bring family, friends, and community together- transforming hearts through the love of Jesus Christ.
Our History
A pioneer of the Lucasville community, Mr. Wallace Lucas, Sr. ,generously donated the land to build the first church structure in 1839 and also served in a spiritual leadership role for the congregation.
In 1938, under the leadership of R.H. Jones, M.A., Lucasville United Baptist Church became a member of the African United Baptist Association (AUBA).
Originally, the church was part of the Nova Scotia Association, which later became the Central Association in 1851.
A new church building was constructed in the early 1960s, with the cornerstone laid on May 31, 1964, by Rev. Wrenfred Bryant. To honor the church’s legacy, a ceremony was held on July 12, 1964, to preserve the historic information and the names of its pioneers for future generations..
